Alicia Chong Rodriguez is the Founder & CEO of Bloomer Tech, a company revolutionizing women’s cardiovascular care by transforming everyday bras into smart medical devices with embedded textile-sensor intelligence that gather often-overlooked data on heart disease in women.
This technology generates digital biomarkers to improve outcomes and reduce existing gaps in women’s heart health. She has dual degrees in electrical engineering and computer science along with integrated design and management from MIT, where she researched sex-specific, computationally generated, cardiac biomarkers at the MIT Computational Cardiovascular Research Group.
She was named a Young Global Leaders by the World Economic Forum (WEF) in 2024 and has received the Biennial MIT Graduate Women of Excellence Award. Her TED Talk on A SMART BRA FOR BETTER HEART HEALTH has >1.9M views. Alicia has led Bloomer Tech to awards such as a $1.9M grant from the National Institutes of Health,The 2024 Innovation Award from the American College of Cardiology and most recently a 2025 Wenger Award for Excellence in Innovation, she has also been covered by WSJ, CBS, The Today Show, MIT Tech Review amongst others and has been a speaker at global events like World Heart Summit 2024 and Consumer Electronic Showcase (CES) 2025.
